Eu Sou Meu Próprio Avô
Homer & Jethro 1956 RCA Victor 6765
Isto fez do meu pai meu genro e mudou minha vida pra sempre

I'M MY OWN GRAMPA -
Homer & Jethro 1956 RCA Victor 6765
Many, many years ago when I was 23
I was married to a Wider who was purty as can be
This Wider had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red
My father fell in love with her and soon they two were wed
This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life
For my daughter was my mother cause she was my father's wife
To complicate the matter even though it brought me joy
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy
I'm my own grampa,
I'm my own grampa
It sounds funny I know
But it really is so
I'm my own grampa
My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad
And so became my uncle though it made me very sad
For if he was my uncle then that also made him brother
Of the Wider's grown up daughter who of course was my step-mother
My father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run
And he became my granchild for he was my daughters son
My wife is now my mother's mother and it makes me blue
Because although she is my wife she's my grandmother too
I'm my own grampa,
I'm my own grampa
It sounds funny I know
But it really is so
I'm my own grampa
Oh if my wife is my grandmother then I'm her grandchild
And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild
For now I have become strangest case you ever saw
As husband of my own grandmother I'm my own grampa
I'm my own grampa,
I'm my own grampa
It sounds funny I know
But it really is so
I'm my own grampa

My daily SharePoint frustration - V
Could not load type 'Blah.Control'. at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.GetType(String typeName, Boolean ignoreCase, Boolean throwOnError)
at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessInheritsAttribute(String baseTypeName, String codeFileBaseTypeName, String src, Assembly assembly)
at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.PostProcessMainDirectiveAttributes(IDictionary parseData)
I was trying to create a custom field type with a custom control. The problem appeared when I was trying to create a new column in a list. Apparently SharePoint wasn't finding the class for the inheritance of the control, declared in the ascx file.
The solution (or workaround):
I checked that the public key token was the same in the GAC, in the ascx.
I checked that the FieldTypeClass in the field declaration was correct in my fldtypes_blahblahblah.xml
I reset IIS. (I think this is what "solved" the problem). It is as if resetting IIS forced SharePoint to "reconsider" the proper version of the assembly in the GAC (flushed whatever from memory).

THE ZENN WILL MAKE ITS CANADIAN DEBUT ON SATURDAY
NEWS RELEASE
ZENN Motor Company Inc.
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
(TSXV: ZNN)
THE ZENN WILL MAKE ITS CANADIAN DEBUT ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4TH, 2008 IN SAINT-JEROME, QUÉBEC
Toronto, Ontario – September 16, 2008– ZENN Motor Company Inc. (“ZMC” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the Canadian debut of its all-electric ZENN in the province of Québec. Following the announcement by Transport Minister Julie Boulet of a three year province-wide pilot project enabling the sale of low-speed vehicles (LSVs), ZMC has obtained a Retailer license to enable direct customer sales from its factory in Saint-Jérôme, Québec.
To celebrate its Canadian debut, ZENN Motor Company is hosting a launch event for the made-in-Québec, zero-emission, no-noise ZENN at its Saint-Jerome manufacturing facility on Saturday, October 4th. All prospective consumers who signed up for ZMC’s waiting list via its website will be invited to test drive the ZENN, meet ZMC officials and enjoy the momentous event of bringing the first commercial electric low-speed vehicles to the Canadian market. This launch event will mark the first day of sales operations and the Company will be taking orders and deposits on a first-come, first-served basis for the first ZENN deliveries in Canada.
“The all-electric ZENN is proudly manufactured in Québec and it is certainly fitting that its Canadian debut is in this highly progressive province that is committed to supporting zero emission transportation solutions,” stated Ian Clifford, CEO of ZENN Motor Company. “This represents an exciting milestone for ZMC as this is the first time we can actively market our vehicle at home where the car is produced.”
ZENN Motor Company plans to market the ZENN through a unique factory-direct approach. Retail operations for ZENN Motor Company will be based in Saint-Jerome and will offer customers the opportunity to not only see first-hand how their new vehicle will be constructed, but to also meet the people who will be building their ZENN.
The ZENN is a fully featured all-electric low-speed vehicle that offers consumers a guilt-free driving experience. The ZENN represents everything good about personal transportation: it’s stylish, fun and socially responsible. The ZENN cruises at a federally regulated top speed of 40 km/h and can travel on roads with posted speed limits of 50 km/h. Featuring generous seating for two plus 13 cubic feet of storage, the ZENN is perfect for those short local trips to pick up groceries, drop off dry cleaning or rent a movie The ZENN provides a range of 50-80 kilometres per charge and ‘topping up the tank’ is as easy as plugging in your cell phone. The cost of driving a ZENN is less than 2 cents per kilometre and as little as four hours of charging will provide 80% capacity from a completely ‘empty’tank’. The ZENN has a retail price in Québec of $16,900.
The ZENN will be officially launched at the Company’s manufacturing facility at 921 Chemin de la Rivière du Nord, in Saint-Jérôme, on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00am. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will commence promptly at 11:30am and interested consumers who would like to attend and test drive a ZENN are asked to register by clicking on the following link:

Montoneros, una historia
Film documental.

Violence in Brazil
I was listening to a Brazilian journalist in August who was comparing numbers of the violence in Iraq and in Rio de Janeiro[1]. Rio de Janeiro is one among 26 States in the Federation. The rate of killings was higher in Rio de Janeiro than in Iraq in the beginning of 2008. As he was saying, according to the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count website, from January to May 3458 Iraqis – both militaries and civilians – were killed. For the same period in Rio de Janeiro, according to official records from the Secretaria de Segurança Pública, there were 2441 homicides, 87 deaths by thievery, 17 episodes of bodily harm followed by death and 6 policemen killed in action, yielding a total of 2551 assassinations. Considering that the population of Iraq is twice bigger than that of Rio de Janeiro, one can say that Rio’s death toll is higher than Iraq’s.
Death by the police is also a concern. According to official records, in the State of São Paulo the police killed 538 people in the first half of 2006, an increase of 87% from same semester in the previous year. Police in Rio de Janeiro, in turn, killed 694 people in the first semester of 2007. As one Brazilian friend of mine here in Ottawa says half-joking, if he’s ever caught between fires of police against thieves, he’ll run towards the thieves.
Unfortunately, violence is not restricted to the largest urban centres. It is in fact spread over large regions of the country (if you ask me I can show you a map). It affects the daily habits of common people in practice. The book Violência Urbana [2] takes a serious look at urban violence. I believe the authors stated the following not in an alarmist but rather thoughtful way:
“The notions of security and communitarian life were substituted by the feeling of insecurity and by the isolation that fear imposes. The other is not seen any more as a potential partner; the unknown one is seen as a threat. The feeling of insecurity transforms and disfigures life in our cities.”
For those interested in knowing more about violence in Brazil I recommend the movies “Ônibus 174” - a documentary by Padilha and Lacerda (which reminds me of highway 174 here in Ottawa, where I drive almost daily) - and “Cidade de Deus” (City of God) by Lins and others.
As a Christian, I am reminded of the Parable of the Good Samaritan. It is one of the PG-rated parables of Jesus for scenes of violence. The religious characters of the parable did not help the victim precisely because of their religious duties and rituals. This is one reason why I value a Christianity that is not restricted to a Sunday morning moment but is intertwined with daily living and action. And this is also one reason why I fear an idolatry of the religious experience that alienates one from these difficult realities.

Passing parameters between pages via URL in SharePoint
For instance, assume that a certain page has a URL parameter passed to it. How to embed this value in the URL to a new list item? (Often a customized version of NewForm.aspx)
Consider two pages: the source page and the NewCustomForm.aspx. This is how I did it:
1. I copied an existing schema.xml from a 'base' list template. In my case, 12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\DiscussionsList\Discuss\schema.xml.
2. Adding a new field to the content type, I added a new FieldRef under ContentTypes/FieldRefs in schema.xml.
<viewfields>

<fieldref name="MyField">
</fieldref>

3. I also added a new Field under Fields.
<Field
Type="Text"
Name="MyField"
DisplayName="MyField">
</Field>
4. I added a reference to the new field in ViewFields under the proper View.

<FieldRef Name="MyField">
</FieldRef>

5. Now the brain surgery: the task now is to embed the URL parameter in the link that creates a new item. In my case, the view I was working in (the view defined in schema.xml) defined a hyperlink with text and the URL in it. My task was to modify this hyperlink to append the parameter. (careful: if the redirection between pages is done by JavaScript, the href in the a element may not be the actual URL. This was my case). I begin adding a JavaScript function under the View/Toolbar element. It just gets the value of the parameter:
<Toolbar Position="After" Type="Freeform">
<IfHasRights>
<RightsChoices>
<RightsGroup PermAddListItems="required" />
</RightsChoices>
<Then>

6. Now I can append the parameter to the URL:

 <a class="ms-addnew" ID="idAddNewDiscuss" href="

" ONCLICK="javascript:NewItem('

?MyField='+GetMyFieldFromURL(), true);javascript:return false;" target="_self">

$Resources:core,Add_New_Discussion;

...
7. Continuing the brain surgery: include JavaScript under the PlaceHolderMain section that does the lookup and populates the fields in the target form (customized NewForm.aspx). I followed this blog post:
http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepointdesigner/archive/2007/06/13/using-javascript-to-manipulate-a-list-form-field.aspx
I modified copied this function to populate a regular text field instead of select options.
function fillDefaultValues() {
...
setTextFromFieldName("MyField", vals["MyField"]);
}
function setTextFromFieldName(fieldName, value) {
if (value == undefined) return;
var theInput = getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle("input","",fieldName);
theInput.value=value;
}
And this is it. Just wait for the patient to wake up from the anesthesia and everything will be alright.
This is how to see it in action:
Put your list somewhere.
Verify that the hyperlink to create a new item actually has the parameter (careful: if the redirection between pages is done by JavaScript, the href in the a element may not be the actual URL)
Click on the link to create the new list item. The parameter must be in the URL at this stage.
Note that the value of the URL made its way to the form.
If you find an easier way to do this, please let me know.

Amazon deforestation increases by 69% in last 12 months
Last Updated: Saturday, August 30, 2008 | 6:08 PM ET
The Associated Press
Amazon deforestation jumped 69 per cent in the past 12 months — the first such increase in three years — as rising demand for soy and cattle pushes farmers and ranchers to raze trees, officials said Saturday.
Some 8,147 square kilometers of forest were destroyed between August 2007 and August 2008 — a 69 per cent increase over the 4,820 square kilometers felled in the previous 12 months, according to the National Institute for Space Research, or INPE, which monitors destruction of the Amazon.
"We're not content," Brazil's environment minister, Carlos Minc, said.
"Deforestation has to fall more, and the conditions for sustainable development have to improve."
Brazil's government has increased cash payments to fight illegal Amazon logging this year, and it eliminated government bank loans to farmers who illegally clear forest to plant crops.
The country lost 2.7 per cent of its Amazon rain forest in 2007, or 11,000 square kilometers. Environmental officials fear even more land will be razed this year, but they have not forecast how much.
Minc says monthly deforestation rates have slowed since May, but environmental groups say seasonal shifts in tree cutting make the annual number a more accurate gauge.
Most deforestation happens in March and April, the start of Brazil's dry season, and routinely tapers off in May, June and July. Last month, 323 square kilometers of trees were felled, 61 per cent less than the area razed in June.
Environmentalists also argue that INPE's deforestation report wasn't designed to give accurate monthly figures but to alert and direct the government to deforestation hot spots in time to save the land.
The Amazon region covers about 4.1 million square kilometres of Brazil, nearly 60 per cent of the country. About 20 per cent of that land has already been deforested."

My daily SharePoint frustration - III
The problem seemed to be related to either serialization of types in the SharePoint RPC, or problem with reference of types or variables in RPC.
I was following the article "How to: Create a Custom List Definition" (
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms466023.aspx ) and I used guidgen to generate a new GUID for my content type. I just copied and pasted the GUID, so I had something like
<ContentType ID="C9FC944F-4124-4DB2-9E37-20CD2E55DCF9" ...
That caused the problem. I needed to follow the format described here for content type IDs. To start with, it was missing the leading "0x" to denote hex encoding, and there are no dashes.
Following the content type ID format solved the problem.

My daily SharePoint frustration - II
I was following the instructions from this MSDN article.
All posts I read were saying that my schema.xml file should refer to internal names. But I copied \FEATURES\DiscussionsList\Discuss\schema.xml , so if there were bad internal names it was SharePoint's fault, so I thought. It so happens that the problem was not related to internal names or escaping of space characters in internal names. It happened because I wasn't referring to the name of my custom list. (and I'm using a different BaseType)

GAC it within Visual Studio

It is convenient to GAC a .NET assembly directly in Visual Studio 2008. In Visual Studio, go to "Tools" in the menu and choose "External Tools..." Enter the information in the dialog as shown above. (The assembly in your project may need to have a strong name). After building your project, select it and choose "GAC it" from "Tools". There you go, you have just GACed your assembly.

Congregação por Tradição
Tradução: Pajé Raoni
"As minhas ovelhas escutam a minha voz;
eu as conheço, e elas me seguem.
A apostasia fere simultaneamente a ekklesia e a episinagoga.

Passion for peace inspires “return to roots” for Chilean denomination
http://www.mennonitechurch.ca/news/releases/2008/02/Release01.htm
"February 1, 2008
-Deborah Froese
SANTIAGO, Chile —Gracious and unassuming, Omar Cortés Gaibur seems an unlikely revolutionary, but his passion for peace has inspired change. A teacher of theology and an international ministry worker for Mennonite Church Canada Witness (MC Canada) and Mennonite Mission Network (MMN), Cortés Gaibur has been instrumental in articulating a vision of Anabaptism among Baptist churches in Chile and in shaping a ministry partnership agreement to promote it. This partnership, between MC Canada, MMN and the Union of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Chile (UBACH), revolves around the development of an Anabaptist Christian Resource Centre for Peace. Known as Centro de Recursos Cristianos Anabautistas por la Paz in Spanish – or CERCAPAZ – the initiative outlines concrete, practical ways for Chileans to embrace Anabaptist peace theology. In a nation where systemic conflict has fuelled societal and family violence, CERCAPAZ offers desperately needed tools and training for church workers and others. Cortés Gaibur is the project coordinator.
Cortés Gaibur grew up in Chile and Mexico under the influence of a Presbyterian grandmother and a Syrian-Muslim grandfather. He credits his grandparents with instilling in him a strong respect for those of other religions and an appreciation for peace work. For example, when the United Nations decreed that land should be set aside for the nation of Israel, Cortés Gaibur’s grandfather knew that it would result in refugee status for many Palestinians, some of whom he was related to. He also understood that such knowledge could jeopardize his relationship with a neighbour who happened to be Jewish. Before any tension could develop between them, Cortés Gaibur’s grandfather approached his neighbour and gently conveyed his disappointment with the UN’s decision while expressing concern for their friendship.
“We grew up with that kind of story,” Cortés Gaibur says. “We learned to understand that peace and dialogue, respect, are the most basic values.”
Cortés Gaibur was introduced to Anabaptist theology in the early 1990s by Titus Guenther, an Associate Professor of Theology and Missions at Canadian Mennonite Bible College (now Canadian Mennonite University) who at that time taught church history at the Evangelical Theological Community in Santiago (now the Faculty of Evangelical Theology). When they shared their perspectives on spirituality, Guenther’s reflection on Anabaptist peace theology struck a chord with Cortés Gaibur. Although Cortés Gaibur expressed his longing for a Mennonite Church in Santiago, Guenther persuaded him to continue pastoring the Baptist church then under his care, where he could sow seeds of interest in Anabaptism.
Through Guenther’s connections, Cortés Gaibur travelled to Vancouver to study at Regent College. When he completed his studies in 1997, he returned to Chile as a worker for the Commission on Overseas Mission (COM), the predecessor to MC Canada Witness. He immediately began developing programs to deal with violence. With his wife Ester and financial assistance from COM, he created the program "5 & 2 Multiply for All", a shelter for abused women in Conchali, Santiago. In 2005 he helped to establish "Sanctuaries of Peace", a neighbourhood abuse and domestic violence prevention program that involves local churches and continues to be a vital component of the CERCAPAZ plan.
UBACH’s vision is often referred to by leaders as a “return to Anabaptist roots”, implying a history of Anabaptism within the Baptist church in Chile. Cortés Gaibur explains that some of the European immigrants who introduced Baptism to Chile arrived with an Anabaptist image of church, although the Southern Baptists with whom they developed a relationship encouraged growth in another direction. With rising membership and an increased desire to find its own identity, UBACH made a decision several years ago to move away from that particular theology. They sought a return to their roots. Although Cortés Gaibur acknowledges UBACH’s spiritual heritage, he attributes the current rise of Anabaptism to visiting professors like Guenther who brought peace theology to Chile in the early 1990s. “It’s a movement more than history,” he says.
UBACH’s renewed focus on Anabaptism has significant implications. Representing 35,000 members and 500 congregations – twice the number of MC Canada congregations – UBACH also influences the 100,000 Chileans who attend member church worship services regularly.
UBACH General Secretary Freddy Paredes acknowledges that although the current leadership has made an intentional theological shift, it will take time for it to filter into local congregations. Paredes, who once studied under Cortés Gaibur and helped him draft the plan for CERCAPAZ, believes the partnership will support and encourage growth of UBACH’s Anabaptist identity. He is appreciative of MC Canada and MMN support. “I see the hand of God working in this development process,” he writes through a translator. “The formation of this strategic alliance for the Kingdom of God, and its practical expression through CERCAPAZ, has meant a great personal satisfaction for me.”
Tim Froese, Executive Director of MC Canada Witness International Ministries and Mission Partnership Facilitator for Latin America, sees UBACH as “a large ministry partner with missional-minded leadership, access throughout the country and many gifts.” He notes that UBACH has been active in building relationships with other Latin American Anabaptists/Mennonites by attending two regional gatherings in 2007. Although MC Canada Witness has had various church partners in Chile over the years, Froese believes CERCAPAZ offers potential for a new, more closely knit partnership. “Omar is a significant resource for CERCAPAZ in developing this vision,” Froese says. “Without being aware of the extent of his teaching influence, Omar has helped give voice and structure to a missional identity and vision for UBACH and has thus paved the way for our partnership to become one of church to church [MC Canada and UBACH].”
A few short years ago, CERCAPAZ would have seemed implausible. “It’s amazing to me how quickly things can change,” says Linda Shelly, Director for Latin America, MMN. She first visited Cortés Gaibur at the Baptist Seminary in Santiago in 2003. “The Rector pulled out their statement of mission that identified their theology as Anabaptist... Omar as well as the other seminary officials said this is clearly in contradiction with our own conference [UBACH].”
However, the idea of Anabaptism spread as UBACH pursued a new identity more closely addressing the needs of Chileans. Just three years later, in late 2006, UBACH president Raquel Contreras Eddinger told Froese that “We [UBACH] are looking for an identity. We think we want to be Anabaptist. We want to be a peace church.” By early 2007, when Contreras Eddinger’s term was ending, Cortés Gaibur helped her to shape an Anabaptist vision for UBACH, which she shared at the annual assembly. She was re-elected.
“A Kairos moment,” Cortés Gaibur muses, reflecting on the event. The CERCAPAZ agreement is shaped with phrases such as “communities of peace,” “horizontal leadership” and “respect for the individual conscience” – a statement which demonstrates sensitivity to Chile’s history of dictatorial leadership. CERCAPAZ encourages congregations to become “Sanctuaries of Peace” or communities of refuge for those who feel their rights or dignity have been violated. Training is offered to help congregational leaders recognize and cope with issues of family violence. Other anticipated projects include regional meetings, campaigns for violence prevention, and the establishment of relationships with other Anabaptist churches.
Publication of resource material is also part of the program. MC Canada Witness and MMN jointly financed over half of the cost for production of 2,000 copies of Radical Coexistence; Spirituality in the 21st Century by John Driver (Eidiciones Kairós, 2007), which was launched in the fall. The balance of funding will be recuperated through book sales.
The CERCAPAZ vision is spreading like wildfire. A workshop held in Oct. led to the scheduling of a Dec. peace march. November seminars on abuse prevention and conflict mediation were attended by churches and non-governmental organizations. Sanctuaries of Peace are met with enthusiasm and Cortés Gaibur reports that several new communities are scheduled to begin this year.
“One of the things that is interesting is that many people from outside the church look at this program with enthusiasm and are interested to be a part of it,” Cortés Gaibur says. “Just today I made a call to a friend who is a teacher and not associated with any church. I asked if he would like to help out with this program and he replied ‘Of course. That is the most wonderful program that I would like to participate in’.” Cortés Gaibur reports hearing people say they are thrilled to be learning how to deal with the real issues that face them.
Anabaptism, it seems, meets many Chileans’ needs. Cortés Gaibur simply opened a door by living in accordance with his own personal convictions and left the rest to God.
Currently, Cortés Gaibur teaches at the Baptist Seminary in Santiago and is the Executive Secretary of the Latin American Theological Fraternity. He would rather build relationships than deal with the inevitable paperwork that accompanies his position – indeed, paperwork often falls behind. He tends to deflect praise for himself by focusing on others. “I want to say you have helped me,” he says at the end of our interview. “Now I know what to write for my reports.”
UBACH celebrates its 100th anniversary from Jan. 8-13 in Temuco, Chile. Representatives of MC Canada, Jack Suderman, General Secretary and Janet Plenert, Executive Secretary of Witness, are in attendance to share Anabaptist perspectives, meet with the UBACH executive and lead workshops on Anabaptism.
Sidebar: Wordplay
The Spanish acronym for Centro de Recursos Cristianos Anabautistas por la Paz (Anabaptist Christian Resource Center for Peace), CERCAPAZ, offers a clever play on words. “CERCA” means “close or near.” The translation of “PAZ” is “peace.” CERCAPAZ can also be pronounced “SER CAPAZ,” with “SER” and “CAPAZ” meaning “to be” and “capable” respectively. Thus, peace is within UBACH’s proximity and capability.
Sidebar: Bread, fish and servanthood
Teacher and theologian Omar Cortés Gaibur takes biblical principles to heart and finds unique ways to share the message of mission. The program 5 & 2 Multiply for All was inspired by the story from Mark 8:1-8 of five loaves of bread and two fish that fed a crowd of four thousand. Under 5 & 2 Multiply for All, Cortés Gaibur and his wife Ester created a shelter for victims of family violence.
At the shelter’s opening banquet, Cortés Gaibur invited high-ranking city officials to participate. While those attending the ceremony expected a fancy meal, the fare was simple – five pieces of bread and two small fish – and the attending officials were invited to do the serving. “It was a way of saying that this is what we have and that this miracle of love extends through us,” says one observer.
The experience left quite an impression on the serving authorities, one of whom noted that he now understood that the miracle of bread and fish wasn’t just a miracle that happened two thousand years ago; it was something that could happen even today.
Enough money was raised that evening to buy groceries for the shelter.
The program 5 & 2 Multiply for All is still in operation today, although it has been modified and is now run by the Baptist Church of Conchali.

Now the "Christian" stuff: there's lots of information on culture "over there". I suppose it is a good advice for any believer, but pastors mainly should be the ones interpreting culture. There's art, there's communication, there's hope, there's reality, there's surreality. All the good stuff that is lacking in churches. This language is rich.

Deconstruction in a Nutshell

"Deconstruction in a nutshell? Why, the very idea!
The very idea of a nutshell is a mistake and a misunderstanding, an excess of journalistic haste and impatience [...]. Nutshells enclose and encapsulate, shelter and protect, reduce and simplify, while everything in deconstruction is turned toward opening, exposure, expansion, and complexification [...].
The very meaning and mission of deconstruction is to show that things - texts, institutions, traditions, societies, beliefs, and practices [...] - do not have definable meanings and determinable missions, that they are always more than any mission would impose [...].
Whenever it runs up agains a limit, deconstruction presses against it. Whenever deconstruction finds a nutshel - a secure axiom or a pithy maxim - the very idea is to crack it open and disturb this tranquility. Indeed, that is a good rule of thumb in deconstruction. That is what deconstruction is all about, its very meaning and mission, if it has any. One might even say that cracking nutshells is what deconstruction is. In a nutshell.
Deconstruction is the relentless pursuit of the impossible, which means, of things whose possibility is sustained by their impossibility, of things which, instead of being wiped out by their impossibility, are actually nourished and fed by it.

Um sonho (un sueño)
Do blog "Palabra Lateral" por Benjamín: http://palabralateral.blogspot.com/2008/08/un-sueo.html
"
"
(Nota: acho interessante as idéias do irmão.

[grifo do K-fé]
"Escutem! Eu venho como um ladrão." Apocalipse 16.15a
Lucas 18.11
2. "É responsabilidade do Estado.
4. "Cantemos mais forte, irmãos.
Aleluia, Aleluia, Aleluia!
Persegui os inimigos e os alcancei
Os consumi, os atravessei
Sob os pés do Senhor caíram
Não mais se levantaram."
O linguajar bélico adora pisar no inimigo. Pau no inimigo! Pau no diferente, pau no fraco! Quem sabe a gente dá uns tiros no culto pra incrementar a coisa?
5. "É o fim do mundo. Só vai ficar pior. Bú! Levou um susto? Fica esperto! Vigia, irmão! Jesus pode voltar a qualquer hora. "

Cracked display, FutureShop's warranty
This is my father's Acer notebook. We bought it at FUTURESHOP here in Ottawa. As you can see it has a cracked display. We bought the 'extra-super-duper-extended-valid-all-over-the-world' warranty, so that if it broke in Brazil my father could fix it there under the warranty. The display cracked alone, likely wiggling in the passenger's seat of my father's car. 100% sure it didn't fall. I managed to bring the notebook to Canada to get it fixed. But the warranty didn't cover it. That's right, it was considered 'abuse', even though I explained it wasn't abuse, that it happened all of a sudden with normal use. It's in the fine print. I get angry because it's not abuse but they use the word anyways. Why not call it accident? They would charge me $400 to get it fixed (and a new notebook was $499). I now use it anyways with the cracked display. I may get a flat panel monitor one day to use with it.
Conclusion: 1- I'll never buy extra warranties at FutureShop because they are bad. 2-Notebook displays crack easily.
