Sabão cró-cró, sabão cró-cró, amém, glória a Deus, põe a cara no pó
Sabão cru-cru, sabão cru-cru, cuidado, não toque no ungidooooo senão pega Exú

Self-portrait by Vicente Amigo

Vicente Amigo, Paseo de Gracia

Autorretrato

Self-portrait

Unce upon a time there was a lost paper boat
Unce upon a time there was a cardboard man hurt
Unce upon a time there was a beach without sea, without children
Unce upon a time
Look at me in the broken mirror

Bitter is the thorn nailed to my soul
Unforgettable memory that kills me

Open the lid of my jar, Gord

Open the lid of my jar, Gord
Open the lid of my jar
I want to eat it
I want to eat it

To eat it right and beef it up
Shinin' in the pan on your griller
Pour out your powder on stove
As we sing Rolie, Polie, Olie

Rolie, Polie, Olie
Rolie, Polie, Olie
Rolie, Polie, Olie
I want to eat it

Music and software

I shake my head when I hear about software that manipulate sound instead of symbolic representations of music. It is like hearing about a compiler that processes the voice of the programmer instead of source code in text format.

Love Shack

If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says 15 miles to the...
Love Shack! Love Shack yeah yeah
I'm headin' down the Atlanta highway, lookin' for the love getaway
Heading for the love getaway, love getaway,
I got me a car, it's as big as a whale and we're headin' on down
To the Love Shack
I got me a Chrysler, it seats about 20
So hurry up and bring your jukebox money
The Love Shack is a little old place where we can get together
Love Shack baby, (a Love Shack bay-bee).
Love shack, baby love shack, love shack, baby love shack, love shack.
(love baby, that's where it's at)
Love shack (love baby, that's where it's at)

Sign says.. Woo... stay away fools, 'cause love rules at the Love Shack!
Well it's set way back in the middle of a field,
Just a funky old shack and I gotta get back

Glitter on the mattress
Glitter on the highway
Glitter on the front porch
Glitter on the highway

The Love Shack is a little old place where we can get together, love shack baby...
(Love Shack baby!)
Love Shack, that's where it's at! Love Shack, that's where it's at!

Huggin' and a kissin', dancin' and a lovin', wearin' next to nothing
Cause it's hot as an oven
The whole shack shimmies
YEA! the whole shack shimmies!
The whole shack shimmies when everybody's
Movin' around and around and around!
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby!
Folks linin' up outside just to get down
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby!
Funky little shack! Funky little shack!

Hop in my Chrysler, it's as big as a whale and it's about to set sail!
I got me a car, it seats about 20
So come on and bring your jukebox money.

Oh the Love Shack is a little old place where we can get together
Love shack, baby! (a love shack baby)
Love shack! baby love shack
Love shack! baby love shack
Love shack! baby love shack
(love baby that's where its at, yea, love baby that's where it's at)

Bang bang bang, on the door baby! (Knock a little louder baby)
Bang bang bang,on the door baby! (I can't hear you!)
Bang bang bang, on the door baby! (Knock a little louder sugar!)
Bang bang bang, on the door baby! (I can't hear you!)

Bang bang (on the door baby)
Bang bang (on the door)
Bang bang (on the door baby)
Bang bang
Your what?.... Tin roof, rusted!

Love Shack, baby Love Shack!
Love Shack, baby Love Shack!
(love baby that's where its at, yea, love baby that's where it's at)
Love Shack, baby Love Shack!
Love baby, love shack
Huggin' and a kissin', dancin' and a lovin' at the love shack

Don't phunk with my heart

Church, preacher, no, no, no, no, don't phunk with my heart.

I wonder if I take you home,
Would you still be in love?

I'm interested in the long haul

Crown Him with many crowns

Crown Him with many crowns

Words: Verses 1, 4, 5, 6 & 9: Matthew Bridges, The Passion of Jesus, 1852; verses 2 & 3: Godfrey Thring, Hymns and Sacred Lyrics, 1874.
Music:
Diademata, George Job Elvey, Hymns Ancient and Modern, 1868

Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.

Crown Him the virgin’s Son, the God incarnate born,
Whose arm those crimson trophies won which now His brow adorn;
Fruit of the mystic rose, as of that rose the stem;
The root whence mercy ever flows, the Babe of Bethlehem.

Crown Him the Son of God, before the worlds began,
And ye who tread where He hath trod, crown Him the Son of Man;
Who every grief hath known that wrings the human breast,
And takes and bears them for His own, that all in Him may rest.

Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed over the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.
His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of peace, whose power a scepter sways
From pole to pole, that wars may cease, and all be prayer and praise.
His reign shall know no end, and round His piercèd feet
Fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet.

Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side,
Those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified.
No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of Heaven, enthroned in worlds above,
Crown Him the King to Whom is given the wondrous name of Love.
Crown Him with many crowns, as thrones before Him fall;
Crown Him, ye kings, with many crowns, for He is King of all.

Crown Him the Lord of lords, who over all doth reign,
Who once on earth, the incarnate Word, for ransomed sinners slain,
Now lives in realms of light, where saints with angels sing
Their songs before Him day and night, their God, Redeemer, King.

Crown Him the Lord of years, the Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou has died for me;
Thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity.

Unis en Jésus / Eins in Jesus / Uniti in Gesù

I like this CD. I bought it in Paris. It is a group of Christians from Switzerland. What I like most (more than the lyrics) is the fact that they sing in the 3 official languages: French, German and Italian. Here's an excerpt in French:

a pour roc Jésus Christ;
elle est l'oeuvre nouvelle
que sa parole fit.
Habitant le ciel même,
il vint se l'attacher,
et, par un don suprême,
mourut pour la sauver!

2 L'église en sa prière
unit à leur Sauveur
les peuples de la terre
soumis au seul Seigneur.
C'est son nom qu'elle acclame,
son pain qui la nourrit;

Words: Samuel John Stone 1866; French translation: Fernand Barth 1923
